Root Canal Therapy

Where the nerve of a tooth has been damaged or infected and there is a desire to save the tooth a procedure known as root canal therapy is employed.

This treatment involves careful removal of the damaged or diseased nerve tissue using specialised instruments. During the procedure the canals are sealed.

Not all teeth are suitable for this procedure but where appropriate it is an excellent protocol to retain a tooth.

Once the tooth has been treated in this manner it is finally restored with either a filling or a crown.
